Rev. Hedin came to us on July 1, 2017 following her retirement (March 1, 2017) as a PCUSA Minister of Word & Sacrament for twenty-two years. Prior to that she had been a nurse who served in Vietnam with the Army Nurse Corps and taught nursing at the undergraduate and graduate levels. She has served churches in West Virginia, and Duplin and Moore Counties here in North Carolina. She took Interim training in 2008 and 2009 and has been doing Interim work since then. Rev. Hedin is with us as our half-time Interim Pastor.
“As God has blessed us and as we value the Lord’s blessings, we realize that God is our sustenance and salvation. It is only natural then that we want to connect others to these deep truths and indeed, to the Lord Himself. Looking back enables us to move forward branching out from the roots of the past which have allowed us to be fruitful in the Lord’s service. Shaped—but not limited by our past—we seek to fulfill God’s call to us as ambassadors for Christ, reconciling the world to God. May it be so, and may we with joy and dedication be about this important work. To God be the Glory!”
