Child Care NEWS:

In The “Good Ole”
summer Time Trinity Child care “really rocks” – water play is a
number one priority with all of the children, even the one year
olds!
The outdoor shelter
becomes an open air classroom for the four
and five year old class. Exploring alternate, innovative
ways of learning. Art, academics and exercise to the max! Ms. Beth,
Ms. Rachel and Mr. Brian provide a big variety of new outdoor
activities.
Before we know it, Safety Town will be here and the big kids will
experience some of the vital info for safe living. The library
downtown is always a fun place to go for new experiences.
Vacation is coming up – July 6th to 10th we will be CLOSED.
Bring back mementos of your summer adventures. Whether we go
away or stay at home, summer always provides things to Show and Tell
and Share. Seashells, mountain rocks, pictures taken of family
outings. The four and five year olds graduated Thursday, June 11.
Lots of excitement, lots of happiness, some pangs of nostalgia from
all of the teachers.
Before too long, it will be time for everybody to make the move up
to a new older classroom. Changes, some good, some sad.
The
three year old class, Ms. Alonda
and Ms. Donna, are keeping things jumping with ice cream days, movie
days and more. Their “Passport to the World” studies is taking them
to other countries without even leaving their classroom!
If you saw bright
colored plastic blocks on the tables in the big playground, it must
be giant Lego’s. Trains, airplanes and even buildings come out of
the two’s and three’s imagination. Future engineers, every one!
The
two year olds are learning
Italian phrases. Ask your precious person to say “My house is your
house” in Italian. They are all working on their Southern Italian
accents. Art is always special with the two’s, lots of gluing and
painting. Water days are coming up with a picnic day or two. Ms.
Heather and Ms. Terry are up to their elbows – working on polishing
up potty skills in preparation for moving up day.
What can I say about
Ms. Carmel and Ms. Charlotte’s one year
olds? They are precious, a constant evolving real person.
New words, new life skills. Growth of body mind, emotions. Becoming
the caring, loving, reasoning, lovable, mischievous persons we all
want to be. The new shelter in the one’s playground is a hot bed for
learning, sand play, slides, swings, sharing, taking turns, not to
mention keeping those little bodies cool without sunburn. The one’s
will also be moving along on the Trinity Childcare Education Track.
This writer, for one,
will greet that day with some tears, some trepidation and no small
amount of pride and gratitude that Trinity Church and the Laurinburg
Community gave our teachers the opportunity to share in your/our
child’s early childhood education.
Later,
Ms. Carmel

After School - A community
service program of Trinity Church, Trinity After School is designed
to give pre-kindergarten through sixth grade students a place to study,
play, and socialize. Separate classes for each age group create a safe
environment that allows teachers and assistants to plan field trips,
do crafts, and facilitate playground activities that are appropriate
to the individual child.
Summer Camp -
Trinity Summer Camp is always bubbling with activity and filled to capacity
with pre-kindergarten through sixth grade students. Swimming, crafts,
field trips, skating, and bowling are just some of the fun things campers
enjoy during the summer. Teachers, assistants, and lifeguards are CPR
and Child Safety certified and work as a team to make summer camp safe
and fun! Trinity Summer 2009 Camp registration
has begun. Don’t wait and loose your spot! Summer Camp will begin June
15. After School registration forms will go out on May 26.
